TARANTISM

Mel Rogers began her career in the folk clubs in North Wales. She soon paired up with guitarist Magnus Martin and they were asked to join folkdub band Avanti. After a swift apprenticeship Avanti emerged on the festival and grassroots scene where they became firm festival favourites. When Avanti split Mel continued with Magnus Martin exploring folk and dance music crossover with their own band Tarantism. A 30 year career with Tarantism has seen Mel perform at most major festivals across Europe and the UK, never missing a season.

Developing their sound acoustically round the fire built to a separate set of the disco and dance music classics they love and that suit Mel's soulful voice... Tarantism Acoustic Disco began, its universal appeal and quirkiness has led to them playing this set at afternoon family events to late night dance clubs. In 2022, Tarantism released the critically acclaimed album "A Pill to Purge All Melancholy" and in 2025 to celebrate their 30th Anniversary they hosted a sold out fan festival, Tarantarti Party, cementing their unique place in festival culture.
