DEAF RAVE
Deaf Rave is a UK-based music and culture collective creating inclusive dance, club, and festival experiences that unite Deaf, hard-of-hearing, disabled, and hearing communities. It features artists who produce and perform bass-driven music—such as bassline, drum & bass, and house—to make the dancefloor accessible and feelable for everyone.
Deaf Rave is a collective of D/deaf and Hard of Hearing musicians, DJs, MCs, VJs, rappers, sign singers, dancers and creatives, who provide entertainment and education that’s inclusive of everyone. It was founded in 2003 by Troi Lee, MBE, aka DJ Chinaman, who had a vision of giving Deaf, Disabled and Hearing performers alike a platform (and a party!) through which to share and showcase their love of music. Since then, it's grown to become a mighty, multifaceted global movement, providing everything from workshops in classrooms, to cultural exchanges in Shanghai, to DJ sets at Glastonbury.
