The Catch (formerly Catch 22)

Prash and Deadly Hunta at Lovebox

A music production company featuring a roster of eight artists. Hailing from Reading, England our sound infuses the bass-led heaviness of the underground scene with the finesse and refinement of live instruments and vocals. With the help of some very talented artists we aim to forge something fresh and innovative that anyone can enjoy.

The artists that call The Catch their home, while impressive musicians in their own right, have something in common that binds them together; they are united in their belief in the power of words and sound as a force for truth and social change.

“Black White or Asian, this is a Much Love Occasion", announced The Catch's Deadly Hunta to an enthusiastic FREEDM Studio as he kicked off 1Xtra's 'Word, Sound, Power' night. Hunta's positive, conscious lyrics carried an anti-drug, anti-violence, anti-racist message over an infectious, juicy mix of roots reggae, funk and hip-hop which soon had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand.”
