Max Pashm first rose to fame in the mid nineties as an early solo pioneer of ethnic/electro dance music. He released his debut album ' Weddings barmitzvahs and funerals' on Sony Music- France in 1997... a reflection of his Jewish heritage, Greek and Arab influences and love of of global rhythms. The album was well acclaimed worldwide, along with Max's blistering live international performances.
Max now performs with a full band, having formed a collective
of musicians based in the U.K and Greece. The new Pashm
sound is a unique blend of traditional Jewish, Gypsy, Greek and
Balkan music fused and blended with hi-energy electronic beats
and grooves.
The forthcoming album 'Never mind the Balkans-here's Max
Pashm' (due for release in the summer of 2007) continues
the Pashm theme of ethnic/electro fusions incorporating organic
world sounds with warm, funky and hipnotic grooves.
