Growing up in Medellin, Colombia, this master musician and instrument maker plays the Andean flute and has dedicated his life to the melody-led beauty of traditional Andean music. Velasierra plays original compositions and exquisite Andean rhythms incorporating contemporary Jazz and African melodies and harmonies.

The Heatwave alongside Global Local, Punch Records and Blue Lotus present a very special Hot Wuk event showcasing the cream of the UK's reggae dancehall artists, all backed by a full live band. Looking forward to the hotly anticipated festival season, this party will bring the charisma and energy of dancehall performers to the fore.
Working with festival programmers and producers, the Hot Wuk Festival showcase will help ensure that reggae and dancehall are well represented at events throughout summer 2012. Jamaica celebrates 50 years of independence this year while the Jamaican Olympic athletics team led by Usain Bolt will ensure that Jamaica is on everyone's lips.
Alongside the live acts, Rinse FM's bashment crew The Heatwave present their high energy festival show joined by carnival dancers in full samba costume. Plus Ras Kwame's Orange Hill and dancehall producer Curtis Lynch with his Necessary Mayhem sound will play futuristic and foundational reggae vibes.
The event celebrates Hot Wuk's journey so far; since 2010, the regular London bashment party has become a 'go-to fixture' on the clubbing calendar. Early London success saw it roll out countrywide in 2011 with events in Brighton, Leeds, Bristol, Manchester and Birmingham.
Expect to see the hottest artists, most scandalous dancers and explosive carnival hype!

Maverick Gambian griot Jallykebba Susso mixes traditional Mandinka kora music (beautiful melodious 22-string West African harp) with 8-strong international band Manding Sabu drawing on rock, reggae and afro-beat; 70-year old master of the Algerian mandol, Seddik Zebiri, displays his unique take on the music of North Africa that ends up sounding like a psychedelic, Hendrix-inspired desert blues thanks to his powerful band Seeds of Creation.

For the fourth year running Movimientos and Global Local present their annual showcase of the finest new Latin acts to emerge in the capital. From heavy Peruvian cumbia grooves, Cuban - Reggae fusion to the freshest urban electro tropical beats and all female Latin folk and roots. Catch these acts before the festival stages by storm!
Manzana Tropical is a brand new act playing a form of Peruvian Cumbia known as Chicha. Brought up in London’s thriving Latin American scene, young musicians Manuy and Cleyder Figueroa are taking inspiration from their Peruvian heritage. Their music embodies influences from classic Peruvian acts as well as guitar based Latin acts like Santana, and then they mix it all up with a hot London vibe. The band also contains experienced musicians from one of the finest Andean fusion acts – Kausary - who have played at most of the UK’s top festivals and have toured extensively in Europe.
FlowSnatcha sees Cuban MC Floiran and Swiss-Argentinian DJ / Producer The Snatcha connect for a heavy hitting musical cross pollination that affirms the contemporary versatility of Afro-Cuban beats. Anchored in sound of the Caribbean and Cuban Hip Hop, blending in elements of Dancehall and Moombahton with electronic dance music (House, Dubstep, and Breakbeat), soulful vocals and a touch of Merengue, Timba and Swing, the FlowSnatcha formula gets you moving instantly.
Remolino Kieto burst on to the London scene with an addictive, masterful sound that combines Andean rhythms with psychedelic Latin rock, romantic bolero and reggae influences. High energy, well-crafted tunes with soul. Musical inspiration ranges from Led Zeppelin to Pablo Milanes, Janis Joplin and Omara Portuondo. The band features some of the UK's top Cuban musicians; drawing on the strong songwriting of lead singer Ramsay Estevez.
Warmi was born as a 5 piece band in October 2011, in London, during an event dedicated to the Cultural Resistance of the Indigenous from the Abya Yala (America in their Native Language). The all-female line up features world-class musicians playing a mix of traditional songs and original compositions.With Phaxsi Coca and Vicki Cespedes, from Bolivia, on Kena and Panpipes; Paloma Palomino, from Peru, on Charango, Guitar and Vocals; Corina Piatti, from Argentina, on Vocals and Guitar and Renu, who has family roots in India, from London, on Percussion.
