Zong Zing All Stars are pure sunshine Congolese cavacha.

In the band’s own words:
Zong Zing All Star plays an up lifting dance music called Cavacha, relying as it does upon sweet vocal harmonies, fiery guitar lines, driving percussion and wicked (sometimes best described as outrageous) onstage dance routines.

Cavacha is the root beat from DRC Congo which created Soukous from Congo, Makosa from Cameroon and Coupez decallez from Ivory Coast.

Zong Zing All Stars have successfully made the world audience appreciate Cavacha beat, where they are using minor, major and pentatonic scale or chords on top of the Cavacha beat, this way of composing has changed the way Soukous is play by using Major scales and chords only. Zong Zing All Stars are also using Franco and Doctor Nico playing style on guitar which you do not hear anymore from African guitarists or bands.

Zong zing all stars is a multi African music where you can here some Congolese pigmies influence and Arabic African influence music as well.

Zong zing all star musical creditability is strictly heavyweight style, with regular band member including ex members of Orchestra Virunga of Samba Mapangala, Tout puissant Ok Jazz of Franco Makiadi, Orchestra Afrisa International of Tabuley Rochereau, Big Musica of Defao, Orchestra Matimbila of Remi Ongala, Rumba ray de Maray of Papa Wemba and semi finalist of Ex Factor. Zong zing all star is a multinational band with musician coming from Congo, Tanzania, Ivory Coast and Europe

Zong zing all star’s name is taken from a Congolese musician’s system known as Zong zing which means musician coming from different band or background but getting together to record or to play a gig, most songs or gigs which were done in this system were successful in Congo. The choice of name came about as a reaction to what the band felt was necessary to create a possible new music style by mixing musician from different band and background.

Zong zing all star draws their musical inspiration from both traditional folkloric and modern sources, producing a rich and authentic music that is sharp, sweet and hot. Most of their songs talk about nature and social life and justice. They have been playing since 2007, first they started as an accapela band then changed to a full instrumented band and are currently preparing to enter into further recording work.
