Biography

Big bass lines and carnival rhythms. That moment when the music makes you lose control. The interactive vibe between band and audience: “the Latin Dub Sound System delivers an unmissable live music experience”.

Part sound system, part South American orchestra, but ultimately genre-defying, the Latin Dub Sound System incorporates Latin percussion, house-driven melodies, dub beats, uplifting vocals, flamenco guitars, Mambo horns and rap.

Fronted by renowned UK producer/mixer The Sea, Latin Dub is a collection of London based musicians of all ages and nationalities with many eclectic listening and playing styles. The band also features a fluid array of guest singers and MCs, including artists Rodney P, Ska Cubano, Yungun, Eva Abraham, Million Dan, Katherine Prado and Benjamin Zephaniah.

The sound system was launched with an acoustic set at Momos in February of last year and two secret shows at Favela Feva and The Vortex in the spring. By the summer the band reached out to The Paradise Festival with a main stage appearance, Lovebox Festival and The Secret Garden Party. In addition to this LDSS also appeared at a handful of festivals in and around London and played the last Fish Seeks Bicycle to be held in Bournemouth as well as their New Year’s Eve Party.
