Global Local is funded by the Arts Council England and PRSF and project managed by Continental Drifts Music in partnership with some of the UK’s greatest producers and promoters of new culture: Movimientos, The Magpie’s Nest, Wormfood, BBC Asian Network, Silk Roads and Ramadan Festival. These partnerships enable us to maintain direct links to all of the freshest and newest hybrid sounds emerging from London’s underground scenes.
Continental Drifts Music has been programming festival stages for over 15 years at some of the UK’s most prestigious festivals, such as Glastonbury, Bestival, Lovebox and Secret Garden Party. We have built up a legendary reputation for providing music that weaves time-honoured sounds with new cultures, creating a following for ‘21st century remix’. Uniquely, this has enabled us to produce programmes in which unknown acts share the same stage as established artists such as Madness, The Scissor Sisters and Toots and the Maytals. We were also the first to give some of today’s greatest names their first festival bookings: artists such as Muse, Snow Patrol, Lily Allen, Florence and the Machine and VV Brown all found their festival feet on Continental Drifts stages before hitting the mainstream.
Our partners can boast of wildly successful events and projects in their own rights and we are honoured to have them on board. For more information on the work they do, please see PARTNERS.
Simply – That’s how!
